Set within a fast moving and young environment this internship program gives you a chance to be part of a winning team. Our Interns are given excellent references and careers advice and many have gone on to work at Proud itself , or at establishments ranging from the Tate to Magnum.

Involve yourself in exciting projects from the planning and research of future shows, to solving logistics and implementing production. You could find yourself calling celebrity agents with exclusive invitations to our openings, or designing our next poster, to sourcing a red carpet - jobs can be tough and challenging but always rewarding and different.
Our internship scheme offers you the chance to design your role within the gallery around your specific talents and interests, by committing to 2- 3 months full time you will gain invaluable experience that may help you to a successful career of your choice. At busy times we occasionally take on exceptional, hard working individuals for less than 2 months but for at least one month full time. The following positions are voluntary specialist internships and we are always seeking General Apprenticeship Interns. All other positions are subject to vacancy.
General Apprenticeship:
This internship is perfectly suited for those interns able to commit 1 month or less. The position will provide a quick grasp of the inner workings of Proud Galleries in the areas of production, events, administration, stock and the general upkeep/procedures of one of Europe’s most prestige photographic galleries. All interns able to commit less than one month or less than 4 days per week, will be given this position, as there is not sufficient time to develop/execute a specific role.
Assistant to Production Manager:
This internship will provide a strong, hands-on experience in actual show production. Duties include, mounting, framing, de-framing, hanging and general upkeep of the galleries such as painting, filling/patching floors and walls, etc. This position also oversees inventory of print stock and executes fulfilment of print orders.
Assistant to Gallery Manager:
This internship will assist in the areas of daily gallery administration alongside the gallery manager. Duties include assisting in opening and closing procedures of gallery, budgeting costs, handling business documents, upkeep of website, etc. This position is also crucial to customer relations, ensuring all client orders are up to date, orders are being processed with accounts and clients are always informed and happy.
Press and Corporate Events:
This intern is in charge of keeping Proud Galleries abundant press up to date, through filing all incoming press into appropriate categories, creating exhibition portfolios and working closely with Idea Generation – Proud Galleries acclaimed outside PR company.
This intern will also oversee opening nights, handle Proud’s famed guest lists and ensure the evening is photographed by in-house photographer and those images filed immediately.
Assistant to Managing Director:
This internship will provide a strong grasp of all positions listed above and demands full dedication to Proud Galleries for a minimum of 8 weeks. Aside from aiding the MD in overseeing production, administration, press and corporate hire events, this intern will help lay down the foundation of each exhibition by dealing with contracts, sponsorship, editing of a show, opening night launches and work closely with photographers. This position also oversees all Touring Exhibitions.
Camden Gallery Assistant
This internship will provide you with a broad experience of what it takes to run a successful gallery. By committing to 2-3 months full time you will become the Camden gallery manager's right hand person, gaining invaluable experience that may help you to a successful career of your choice. Assistant the Press and Gallery Manager
The Assistant to Press and Gallery Manager position will allow you to gain insight into many aspects of gallery administration, management and PR. You will work directly alongside the Press and Gallery Manager, allowing you to form a professional relationship while gaining valuable experience and careers advice. Excellent organisational skills are absolutely essential, as you will be responsible for coordinating and updating the Press and Gallery Manager’s daily schedule. Other duties will include liaising with press and media, event coordination, press updating and archiving, exhibition and artist research, and general administrative duties.
This is a 6 month position that pays travel and expenses.
